how to donate artwork?
Hi, my name in wikipedia is Ingo y gonga. It was recently erased from commons an image uploaded by me. The deletion was a consequence of the concern about the authorship of the image, since I've filled the upload form writting "anonymous author", aswell as I claim to be the owner the copyrights of the image.
This is it: I painted it, like some other images I upload eventually. But I don't like to take credit for my own artwork, for ideological reasons, so I officially declared the piece to be made by an anonymous author. which is true because the author is me deciding to remain anonymous.
I now think I realize that Commons cannot assume the responsibility of storing material without being sure that the author has actually assigned the rights. So I'm ok to declare that the images are made by me (Ingo y gonga) without revealing my real life name. Because I don't want other users to know my personal name. Is it ok like that?
I can see that Commons has a lot of images which are made by other users like me. What's the best way to do it?
Recently I uploaded the same image with a different name and framing. stating that the author is me,"Ingo y gonga", and assigning the rights to Commons. Is it ok like that?
Tnx for your time Ingo y gonga (talk) 03:50, 9 June 2025 (UTC)
- If you are the artist, could you please email our permission verification team, COM:VRT?
- Link to the file name, and explain what sources you have used to base the underlying subject on if any.
