Uyghur Khaganate map

I also believe that southern tarim basin wasn't part of uyghur Khaganate but per sources that I add before northern tarim basin conquered by Uyghurs. Your map also dosen't show lands of khitans, Shiwei and Liang Province. 10gok10 (talk) 11:05, 25 January 2025 (UTC)

I will add pages numbers for current sources. and add several other sources for the other regions which map dosen't show but was part of uyghur Khaganate.
I told my friend to exclude southern part of tarim basin (which unlike northern part wasn't part of Khaganate) from map.
Good luck 10gok10 (talk) 13:05, 25 January 2025 (UTC)
@10gok10: Thanks for updating sources. पाटलिपुत्र (talk) 21:39, 26 January 2025 (UTC)
Thanks.
Such words from you means alot to me 10gok10 (talk) 14:27, 27 January 2025 (UTC)
have you see karakhanid map
I add source to it about conquest of Kingdom of Khotan in 1006 by karakhanid under their khagan Yūsuf Qadr Khān long time ago. I make a amature map (to help you) for it. Can you make a good one.
Regards 10gok10 (talk) 14:38, 27 January 2025 (UTC)
Map of the Kara-Khanid Khanate.
@10gok10: Thanks, you were quite right (if we consider 1006 as already being c.1000, but why not). I corrected per Palgrave Concise Historical Atlas of Central Asia (2008), but adjusted the Tarim Basin according to other sources. Please be very precise if you need more adjustments on this or other maps. पाटलिपुत्र (talk) 15:42, 27 January 2025 (UTC)
first: yes from 998 to 1017 karakhanid ruled by their supreme leader Ahmad Arslan Qara Khan.
second: this map better than previous ones (Palgrave Concise Historical Atlas of Central Asia (2008),map) whole tarim basin wasn't part of karluk karakhanids, northern part was part of Uyghur Qocho (although there was babttle between these two and cities change in hands of two empires.even Kashgari mentioned it).
Third: yes we must precise for maps but as you know All these maps are approximate. For example mongol empire map did mongols conquered all mountain villages of Caucasus?! Definitely No. We know per persons like William of Rubruck, that mountain part was free.
Good luck my friend it's always a pleasure to talk with you 10gok10 (talk) 14:33, 29 January 2025 (UTC)
Oh I almost forgot I add another source about Conquest of Fergana Valley by Uyghur Khaganate. Going add much source in the future. 10gok10 (talk) 14:35, 29 January 2025 (UTC)

i make map for xiongnu after add source to it. Can you draw a good one based on it. Thanks 10gok10 (talk) 12:31, 4 February 2025 (UTC)

@10gok10: I do not see the whole Tarim in your sources, just the Turfan Basin?. Thanks. पाटलिपुत्र (talk) 12:39, 4 February 2025 (UTC)

Second:Xiongnu under their supreme leader's Modu conquered Manchuria to East, to west Yuezhi, to north conquered several tribes including Dingling, to south they conquered Ordos. Modu shortly before his death made a number of important Conquests, not only drove Yuezhi out of kansu, He Asserted his presence in Western Regions. 10gok10 (talk) 12:48, 4 February 2025 (UTC)

Thanks. Great work. Did you read my massages abot "Seljuk empire map" and "Uyghur Khaganate map"?? 10gok10 (talk) 15:02, 4 February 2025 (UTC)

Seljuk empire map

Can you make a good map base on this map.i make it After add the sources. previous one dosen show the Hijaz and Yemen and Anatolia (Western part doesn't show but this regions conquered by Seljuks and retaken by byzantine latter's). And about Georgia hence it was vassal of Seljuks like karakhanid can you make their color light (like the karakhanid) 10gok10 (talk) 12:38, 4 February 2025 (UTC)

@10gok10: OK, I adjusted for the Red Sea Coast, as this is the way the Times treats it. For Georgia, I left central and eastern Georgia under Seljuk dominion + Shirvan per Peacocks. I left Anatolia crisscrossed, as this is the way it is treated in "The Great Seljuk Empire" and the Times. Best पाटलिपुत्र (talk) 07:13, 5 February 2025 (UTC)
@10gok10: Please also don't forget to put page numbers in your references. Thanks! पाटलिपुत्र (talk) 12:55, 5 February 2025 (UTC)
thanks for your efforts, your works are great. But there is some problems. I think you just use the map of the source (maps in The Great Seljuk Empire" and "the Times") right??.
First: there is no source that says Seljuks conquered huge part of Dagestan.
Second: George II of Georgia was king of United Kingdom of Georgia not just east. Georgia united in 1008. And Georgia become vassal of Seljuks during his and Malikshah reign and it's status was like karakhanid and different from other parts of empire which ruled by Seljuk princes or Atabegs.
Third: you can left Anatolia crisscrossed, but doesn't include Western Anatolia and cities like Sinop. You must note that Suleiman ibn Qutalmish adrees Malikshah as his sovereign (albeit acted different). after his death (killed in battle with Tutush Seljuk ruler of Syria) Malikshah took Suleiman's son to khurasan and choose Abu'l-Qasim to replace him.
Again thanks for your works
If you need more Clarification just tell me. Regards 10gok10 (talk) 13:23, 5 February 2025 (UTC)
Yes I prefer to rely on published maps in order to make my own maps for Wikipedia, whenever possible.
First Dagestan: "In the middle of the 11th century , the Seljuks captured the territory that now includes Azerbaijan and a considerable part of Dagestan . But a century later , several independent states emerged" Dagestan p.18 "By the middle of the tenth century, the majority of the population in the southern parts of Dagestan had been converted to Islam. Under Seljuk rule (1038-1327), the Shafi'i madhhab began to spread among the communities of central Dagestan, while conversions to Sufi Islam increased among both plain and mountain dwellers." European Muslims and the Qur’an: Practices of Translation, Interpretation p.119 "Dagestan was part of Caucasian Albania. In the seventh century CE the Arabs occupied southern Dagestan and converted the people to Islam. The Arabs were replaced by the Seljuk Turks in the tenth century, who in turn were succeeded in the the thirteenth century by the Mongols and the Golden Horde" Encyclopedia of the World's Minorities p.360
Third Often, territorial maps prefer not to record temporary possessions or raids: about Sinop "In 1081, the city was captured by the Seljuk Turks, who found there a sizeable treasury, but Sinope was soon recovered by Alexios I Komnenos" (Sinop article) पाटलिपुत्र (talk) 07:36, 6 February 2025 (UTC)
Hello again my friend.
First: I think now both of us agree about Georgia, and George II of Georgia was king of United Kingdom of Georgia (not only Easter part).
Second: I also say "didn't think Seljuk have big part of Dagestan" and you say "Seljuks captured the territory that now includes Azerbaijan and a considerable part of Dagestan" ( we must also remember that northern part of terek river wasn't really part of Dagestan and Dagestani people who satteled in those regions are recently satteled from mountain regions, mostly during Soviet time). Anyway I'm ok with that.
Third: thing about cities of Anatolia like Smyrna(Izmir), Ephesus(near present-day Selçuk), Sardis, Philadelphia(Alaşehir),Sinope(Sinop).this cities were part of Seljuk empire in 1090. And were retaken by byzantine after 1097 (during First Crusade and restoration of Alexios I Komnenos (look at his article in Wikipedia). But if you look at the Time of map it's 1090 during reign of Malikshah (Malikshah still alive and his empire doesn't fell into chaos) and cities haven't retaken by byzantine empire.
Best Regards 10gok10 (talk) 11:50, 6 February 2025 (UTC)
Thanks for map, hope one day can repay your kindness 10gok10 (talk) 11:34, 13 February 2025 (UTC)

Junayd

Ok, do as you want. But if you are right, probably the correct move is to remove those manuscripts from category "Persian miniatures by Junyad". As long as they are in this category, from the purely structural reasons there is no sense in putting them in category Jalayerid miniatures second time (as they are already in there). Well, which I wrote many times already.--Nous (talk) 06:02, 5 February 2025 (UTC)

Map of the Kazakh Khanate

Hello. There was a discussion here about the accuracy of this map. The map was found to be inaccurate. There are the following inaccuracies. 1) The border should be along the Tien Shan ridges. On the map, the border is located north of the Tien Shan by about 200 kilometers. 2) The territory should include lake Zaisan and the upper reaches of the Irtysh river. 3) It should include the Ural River and reach the Volga river and the borders of the Kazan Khanate. Detailed description of boundaries with sources is here. We engaged a mediator to reach consensus. It was decided to copy an existing map that matches the descriptions as closely as possible, and not draw the map from the descriptions ourselves. This map is copied from an existing map from the Big atlas of the history and culture of Kazakhstan. The mediator accepted this map as correct. Please replace the current map with this one. Map of the Hindu Shahis - Where are the sources?

I have noticed that for Map 1 and 2 there doesn't seem to be any citations, yet they are used in articles.

Did you refer to a source when making these maps? If so please cite them in the Commons article for both maps. AlvaKedak (talk) 15:18, 9 March 2025 (UTC)

Map of Ghaznavid Empire

Hello. I would like to offer a correction. Your map of Ghaznavid empire is inaccurate. It included parts of China and Kyrgyzstan which Ghaznavids never ruled. Ghaznavid extent in India and Persia is also incorrect. The map is based on the book “A Historical atlas of South Asia. p. 146”

I have a .png illustration of accurate Ghaznavid empire map with five different sources. If you could navigate the sources and correct the map, then it would help the viewers. Because the inaccurate map has been on Wikipedia for a long time and undoubtedly misled people. Beylarbey (talk) 06:03, 23 July 2025 (UTC)

Thanks. I tweaked a bit the eastern part based on THE CAMBRIDGE HISTORY OF IRAN THE SALJUQ p.21, map 2. That's all I can do for now, and that's a good source. पाटलिपुत्र (talk) 09:11, 23 July 2025 (UTC)
Also change it here too. And the Indian side is well illustrated in The Life and Times of Sultan Mahmud of Ghazna p. 272. Take time to update the rest of the regions based on the other sources too. Thanks Beylarbey (talk) 09:37, 23 July 2025 (UTC)
