Talk:DarkBASIC Programming

Please Help Finish this Book

If in any way you believe you can contribute to this book please do so. For readers hoping to see a finished version you probably won't, read the forums, ask questions there, read all tutorials you can, experiment and most of all pick up a book on DarkBASIC.

Day 16 Outline Image

About this image linked from Day 16: http://img466.imageshack.us/img466/7410/outline6ql.th.jpg

Who drew this? Is it possible that we can get a free license for this image, for example the GNU Free Documentation License, Creative Commons Attribution or Attribution-ShareAlike license, or a donation to the public domain?

If we have a free license, then we can upload the image to Wikibooks, or upload it to the Wikimedia Commons, then we can include the image in the book, instead of linking to it. --Kernigh 17:14, 28 March 2006 (UTC)

RE By - Dbtutor

I drew that myself, it's just a very horrible drawing I did of an outline for the text adventure game in one of the lessons. I don't care whoever uses this image, and it's good where it's too photobucket lets you upload images for free.

General Diccussion & Update Information

Please keep comments constructive and polite

"I mean this in the nicest possible way, but I don't think u know enough about programming to be writing something like this dude?" - =PRoF=

I'm sorry you feel this way but I believe I have enought knowledge of DarkBASIC to write a book on it which I'm doing, I want to share my knowledge, if you think I'm doing things wrong share some of your knowledge in the book by all means. I am relatively new to programming but not to DarkBASIC. Thanks, however for your pleasant compliant that was not meant to offend me. - Jonathan/Dbtutor

Hey guys, I'm working on the book again, it will be done by July I promise!!! - Jonathan

Unfornately, due to alot of stuff I want to get done and my own quest to learn more then just about DarkBASIC, the book probably won't be done this summer, I will work on it when I get the time but for now it won't be done for awhile.

-Jonathan

Hey DarkBASIC fans, update coming soon I'm hard at work on the Space Invader clone! Hope you've all been having a great summer.

- Jonathan

Does it matter what kind of DarkBASIC I'm using?

RE: Probably not at this point in time, however I used DarkBASIC Classic in this book.

I think you made an error in Lesson 8 - 2d Game Programming Pt 2, where the first piece of code is.

Grammar

Hi - thanks for the DB tutorials.

A bit of constructive criticism - get a friend to proof read your text as there are a lot of grammatical mistakes.

Cheers

Richard C

RE: Yes I have a big problem with grammar! Point taken. :)

Note

Update: I definately will not finish the book. School is very demmanding, and I no longer use Windows. If anyone wants to take up the task and finish writing the book I would be very happy. Please continue to edit and contribute to this book hopefully it's helped many.

I don't think I can finish this book. I'm too busy with school, and learning more about programming. Please, if you think you can finish it for me. I will sometimes add to this book but only in small amounts.

Sorry, Jonathan/Dbtutor
