This wikibook was created as part of a course on Writing in the Public Sphere at James Madison University. It represents the focus and content of the course at this point. Future students of this course are invited to revise, rewrite, elaborate, and otherwise improve this text. Of course this invitation also extends beyond the community of the course or the university to anyone with interesting thoughts on the matter. Wikibooks are, after all, an important forum in the public sphere.
