Basic Pokémon:

Basic Pokémon are the first stage of a Pokémon. You can find this information on the left side of a card that tells you what stage they are. Basic Pokémon are mostly weaker Pokémon. (Other than some GX and EX cards). However, some Pokémon can be evolved into a stronger stage 1 Pokémon. For example a Meowth can evolve into a Persian.
