Ingredients
- 4 tbsp chopped onion
- Fatty pork
- 1 quart mashed potatoes
- 1 ½ pounds sea biscuit, broken
- 1 tsp thyme
- 1 tsp summer savory
- ½ bottle mushroom catsup
- 1 bottle port or claret
- ¼ nutmeg pod, grated
- A few cloves
- Mace
- Allspice
- 6 pounds sea bass or cod, cut into slices
- 25 oysters
- Black pepper
- A few slices lemon
Procedure
- Fry the onion with the fatty pork. Transfer to a large pot.
- Add all remaining ingredients to pot.
- Add enough water to cover everything by 1 inch.
- Bring to a boil. Simmer for 1 hour, stirring gently every so often.
- Serve.
