Summary

Screenshot taken from http://en.wikipedia.beta.wmflabs.org/ with the Typography Update enabled (Windows 7, Opera 12, ClearType disabled, hardware acceleration disabled). Problems:

1. Unnecessary line breaks (marked in red) make it hard to see what is a new element and what belongs to the same element.
2. Black text is not recognizable as clickable links.
3. Smaller font size and line height make everything even harder to read than before.
4. Reduced whitespace inside and around the navigation makes all elements "crunch" together.
