Summary
States where Barack Obama received the most pledged delegates are purple. States where Hillary Clinton received the most pledged delegates are yellow. States where each received the same amount of pledged delegates are orange. Obama's and Clinton's delegate totals do not include delegates pledged to John Edwards that endorsed Obama or Clinton after Edwards suspended his campaign. They also do not include superdelegates, and pledged delegates who were apportioned after a state's primary or caucus without regard to that state's primary or caucus; for example, the three delegates chosen at the New Hampshire state convention have endorsed Barack Obama but New Hampshire is colored orange because both Obama and Clinton won the same amount of delegates during that state's January 8 caucus.
