Misuse of the Royal Arms
Images of the Royal Arms are not free, nor are they licensed. Even the template text itself notes this. Please change the initial lines of the template as follows:
From: {| {{CC-Layout|lang={{int:lang}}}} | rowspan="3" | [[File:Royal Coat of Arms of the United Kingdom (HM Government).svg|120px]] | This file is licensed under the [http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/doc/open-government-licence/version/2/ Open Government Licence v2.0].
To: {| {{CC-Layout|lang={{int:lang}}}} | rowspan="3" | | This file is licensed under the [http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/doc/open-government-licence/version/2/ Open Government Licence v2.0] ('''OGL v.2'''). {{Editprotected}} LeadSongDog (talk) 17:48, 20 May 2015 (UTC)
- @LeadSongDog: The image used here is not the 'official' version of the coat of arms (which can be seen here), but a freely-licensed artistic rendering of the CoA as described by the heraldic language. While it might be subject to some 'non-copyright restrictions' in the UK, this particular version is not under Crown Copyright. Revent (talk) 23:19, 19 June 2015 (UTC)
Add machine-readable license data
Please replace the following code...

|}<includeonly>{{#ifeq:{{NAMESPACE}}|File|{{{category|[[Category:OGL|{{PAGENAME}}]]}}}}}</includeonly><noinclude>
...with this code which adds machine-readable markers to this copyright license template:
</small><!--
--><span class="licensetpl_long" style="display: none">Open Government License 2</span><!--
--><span class="licensetpl_short" style="display: none">OGL 2</span><!--
--><span class="licensetpl_link" style="display: none"><nowiki>http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/doc/open-government-licence/version/2</nowiki></span><!--

Add non-breaking space
Can a non-breaking space be added on the Attribution line between 'Attribution:' and the specific author? E.g. (from File:RAF F-35B.jpg)
Attribution: SAC Tim Laurence RAF/MOD
Can this also be repeated on {{OGL}} and {{OGL3}}? Thanks. Militum professio scriniarii (talk) 17:03, 19 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Militum professio scriniarii: How important is it that it’s a non-breaking space? Because if we’re okay with a normal space, we can replace the whole
{{LangSwitch|ja/zh-hans/zh-hant=:|default=: }}
construct with{{int:colon-separator}}
and it’ll use the right kind of colon (and space iff not fullwidth colon) for all languages supported by MediaWiki. My gut feeling is that with a line like “Attribution: SAC Tim Laurence RAF/MOD”, breaking between “Attribution:” and “SAC” wouldn’t be any worse than breaking between “SAC” and “Tim”, say. - @Lucas Werkmeister: There is no great importance for a non-breaking space, a conventional space is okay. Your reply ponders another thought - is it feasible to include the entered author ('SAC Tim Laurence RAF/MOD') within a nowrap? If that is too much hassle - I am perfectly happy with your suggestion. Best regards. Militum professio scriniarii (talk) 19:38, 19 December 2024 (UTC)
- Probably feasible, but I have no idea if it’s a good idea or not ^^ let’s just go with the colon-separator message for now. Lucas Werkmeister (talk) 20:03, 19 December 2024 (UTC)

- Ugh, nevermind, apparently colon-separator can’t be used in Wikitext (the colon gets interpreted as a definition list) :/ Lucas Werkmeister (talk) 20:19, 19 December 2024 (UTC)
