Summary

Description
English: Chart showing Earth's albedo (reflectivity) as a function of time

(3 February 2025). "Global Warming Has Accelerated: Are the United Nations and the Public Well-Informed?". Environment 67 (1): 6-44. DOI:10.1080/00139157.2025.2434494. Figure 6.
  • Source explains: "Earth’s albedo (reflectivity, in percent), seasonality removed. (Note:) We take the first 10 years of data as the base period (defining the zero point for anomalies) as the longest that avoids intrusion into the time of IMO restrictions on ship emissions. Ten years does a reasonable job of averaging over the solar cycle."
  • Relevant article re albedo: Goessling, Helge F.; Rackow, Thomas; Jung, Thomas. (5 December 2024). "Recent global temperature surge intensified by record-low planetary albedo". Science 387 (6729): 68-73. DOI:10.1126/science.adq7280.
  • Technical note: SVG code for the grid and axes was automatically generated by the "line charts" spreadsheet linked at User:RCraig09/Excel to XML for SVG. Data lines were "traced" using Inkscape. Additions and adjustments were made in a text editor.
This W3C-unspecified vector image was created with Inkscape .
