Gold vs. Black

I move that the borders of this emblem should be in dark gold rather than black, being that most authentic flags produced in the GDR and used for official purpose use dark gold (as seen here, here, and here), while most found with black outline are either non-authentic or are of significantly lesser quality. --Michaelwuzthere (talk) 01:51, 17 July 2012 (UTC)

Ich denke, dass es keine offizielle Farbe dafür gibt. Sie #1 von Gesetz über das Staatswappen und die Staatsflagge der Deutschen Demokratischen Republik: es sagt "Das Staatswappen der Deutschen Demokratischen Republik besteht aus Hammer und Zirkel, umgeben von einem Ährenkranz, der im unteren Teil von einem schwarzrotgoldenen Band umschlungen ist." Gesetz über das Staatswappen und die Staatsflagge der Deutschen Demokratischen Republik, § 4: "Für die Form, Gestaltung und Farbe des Staatswappens, der Staatsflagge und der Standarte des Präsidenten der Deutschen Demokratischen Republik sind die anliegenden Muster verbindlich." Ich habe auf der Thema-Website "Protokoll Inland der Bundesregierung" eine gute Scan vom Gesetzblatt der Deutschen Demokratischen Republik vom 27. Oktober 1955 gefunden. Ich habe die Abbildung des Staatswappens auf Commons hoch geladen und hier neben abgebildet. Diese Abbildung ist die authentische Version und nur diese Abbildung ist verbindlich. Die Hintergrundfarbe des Ährenkranzes ist lichtbraun. Also ist lichtbraun die offizielle Farbe für den Hintergrund des Ährenkranzes. --Bouwe Brouwer (talk) 10:39, 20 July 2012 (UTC)

Ja vielen Dank dafür, da sieht man mal, dass die momentane Darstellung in Einigem nicht übereinstimmt. Übrigens sind hier angeführte Fotobelege für Schwarz, ausländische Reproduktionen (finnisch). PS: Noch besser sieht's bei File:Coat of Arms of East Germany (1950–1953).svg aus, dort wird eine Handzeichnung (eines reputativen Commonsusers) als Referenz genommen (und das alles hier ist beileibe kein Einzelfall. Great Brightstar I can not spot any differences between the current and your version, except for your red background, not filling the space completely and some yellow showing from underneath (especially visible on the bottom. What details have you added? --Jarekt (talk) 13:50, 17 April 2025 (UTC)
OK, after seeing from two images from official documents File:Staatswappen der Deutschen Demokratischen Republik.jpg and File:Personalsausweis für Deutsche Staatsangehörige, Deutsche Demokratische Republik, 1954 - Vers. 01-02.jpg, I decided to add yellow area from underneath to make image closely resemble official rendition. Great Brightstar, I looked at more files and I do see 2 variations:
  • files with red area underneath (like the current file):
  • files with brown area underneath:
I have not seen any historical photographs with 100% yellow area underneath. So I think the current flag is probably fine, as it has historic equivalents. We could also have a flag with brown area underneath, but maybe as a separate file (?). --Jarekt (talk) 03:21, 19 April 2025 (UTC)
