This map is outdated. South Sudan is now independent and recognises English as the sole official language in its constitution. Nederlandse Leeuw (talk) 14:19, 2 August 2011 (UTC)

Iraq

Syria

Why is Syria green and light blue? They are mutually exclusive.  Preceding unsigned comment added by High surv (talk  contribs) 05:01, 24 June 2021 (UTC)

Rojava in Syria

Syria is striped apparently due to inclusion of the unrecognized Rojava regional government in it, but in Special:Diff/808316077 after someone added Somaliland, it was removed due to discussion regarding unrecognized countries here. I don't understand why this argument was made for Somaliland but not Syria? Both should abide by de jure state. Syrian constitution only lists Arabic, and as such it should be green without stripes. --Lolekek (talk) 00:43, 31 January 2024 (UTC)

Malta

Maltese is considered a dialect of Arabic, should it be added to the map? Betseg (talk) 04:36, 5 February 2024 (UTC)

@Betseg Maltese is a language that is derived from Arabic, it is not considered a dialect. Lolekek (talk) 04:23, 6 February 2024 (UTC)

Iran

What do you mean Iran has a “majority” of arabic speakers? According to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran#Languages “Azerbaijani, the most-spoken minority language in Iran, and other Turkic languages and dialects are found in various regions, especially Azerbaijan. Notable minority languages include Armenian, Georgian, Neo-Aramaic, and Arabic.”  Preceding unsigned comment added by Djzion (talk  contribs) 23:52, 16 June 2025 (UTC)

Palestine

As far as I know, Arabic is the sole official language of Palestine, and therefore should be colored in green rather than blue. Can someone get it fixed, please? Ispanas (talk) 23:21, 12 December 2025 (UTC)
