It is useful that there is an article about this video and already 21 exist but I do not see a benefit from existence of the video itself. The Policy says "Files that add nothing educationally distinct to the collection of images we already hold covering the same subject" ديفيد عادل وهبة خليل 2 (talk) 13:10, 22 February 2017 (UTC)
Keep It is COM:INUSE on articles on projects. No valid reason to delete, since it is then automaticly in COM:SCOPE. (t) Josve05a (c) 13:23, 22 February 2017 (UTC)

Keep. Speedily so. In use and of historical significance. Andy Mabbett (talk) 15:34, 22 February 2017 (UTC)
Keep I fail to understand the logic of the nomination, it seems too obvious to me to have to argue that we would want to keep the unique video, as well as creating articles about it. --Fæ (talk) 16:41, 22 February 2017 (UTC)

The YouTube account this video was uploaded from is not operated by the videographer. Do we have any evidence that they were actually able to release this under a Creative Commons license? Launchballer (talk) 10:22, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
Delete As long as the videographer hasn't released this video under a suitable license, this will have to go. Yann, I'm not sure that this deletion request is showing up in the right places. Could you take a look and apply a fix if needed? Schwede66 05:01, 23 June 2024 (UTC)
- Comment Shouldn't we ask the videographer before nominating? AuroraANovaUma ^-^ (talk) 21:11, 1 July 2024 (UTC)
- Ask the videographer about the license

- Why did nobody by now simply look at the Wayback Machine archived version of the video? Here is the page as of 6 June 2013. It has this in the description:

Since this video depicting Jawed Karim was taken by Yakov Lapitsky, there are two possibilities here: (1) Karim is a joint author and thus could release the video under a CC license, or (2) Karim is not a joint author, leaving the video's copyright solely in Lapitsky's hands because Lapitsky is the one who "fixed" the work. Given that we are bound by the precautionary principle, we should assume the latter and delete the video unless someone is able to obtain permission from Lapitsky. prospectprospekt (talk) 19:10, 26 October 2024 (UTC)
- Also includes File:Me at the zoo (screenshot).png as derivative work of the video. ~~2NumForIce (speak|edits) 05:09, 27 November 2024 (UTC)
- Changing my !vote to neutral after reading Meta:Wikilegal/Authorship and Copyright Ownership. It is possible that Karim is, beyond a significant doubt, a joint author. Here it says that Karim gave Lapitsky his camera and then asked Lapitsky to film him, suggesting that Karim had creative control over the video. Also, I want to disclose that I tried to contact Lapitsky several months ago. prospectprospekt (talk) 18:16, 2 December 2024 (UTC)
Keep per Prospectprospekt. I think that it's very likely that Karim qualifies as an author of the video. Di (they-them) (talk) 15:39, 17 December 2024 (UTC)
