Hello and welcome to my userpage!
If you have any questions regarding my work or contributions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page.
About me
I'm an active contributor from Germany and have a regularly maintained user page on the German Wikipedia.
I'm a chemist holding a M.Sc. degree in industrial chemistry and currently pursuing a PhD in this field.
Here on Commons, I created my account under the username Chem Sim 2001 in November 2018. I changed my username to the more simpler name ChemSim in June 2025.
Since March 2019, I have been a file mover and since June 2025, I'm an admin here on Commons.
I have a second account which I exclusively use for maintenance work regarding SVG correction, replacement and validation of files uploaded by other users. For issues regarding the work of that account, please contact me directly on my talk page.
I currently use ChemDraw 22.2 + Scribus 1.5.4 + Inkscape 1.4 to draw and edit my 2D chemical structures. To create 3D chemical structures, I use CCDC Mercury 2025.1 and GIMP 3.0.
My contributions

A collection of my 3D images of crystal structures can be found under Category:3D images by Simon Weber.

There are guidelines how to create structural formulas for Wikipedia in the Manual of Style for Structure drawing. If you are interested in chemistry in general have a look at Commons:WikiProject Chemistry.
