English: The video work „birthmark“ shows scenes from a factory where children are produced.
The scenery stands as a placeholder for peoples insatiable desire for perfection and prestige. As the most massive example in this regard, I see the desire for the perfect child as a presentable prestigious object, whether in social media or in real life. It seems, the most important thing is that it looks pretty, can be presented, but the value and personality of the individual does not matter much. My work deals with the assembly line production of babies which are ordered as desired like in an online shop. |
