Mathew Carter, assigned to the Black Eagles of Airborne Early Warning Squadron (VAW) 113, renders a salute as the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) passes the USS Missouri memorial and approaches the USS Arizona memorial. Ronald Reagan is in Hawaii to participate in the 22nd Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) exercise, the world's largest multinational maritime exercise. RIMPAC is a biennial, multinational exercise designed to strengthen regional partnerships and improve multinational interoperability.
