English: Persian Gulf (Apr. 18, 2005) - An S-3B Viking, assigned to the "Screwbirds" of Sea Control Squadron Three Three (VS-33), launches from the flight deck aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70). The Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group is conducting operations in support of multi-national forces in Iraq and maritime security operations in the Persian Gulf. Carl Vinson will end its deployment with a homeport shift to Norfolk, Va., and will conduct a three-year refuel and complex overhaul.
