English: Arabian Gulf (Aug. 12, 2004) – Air Traffic Controller 3rd Class John Wood of Jacksonville, Fla., monitors the approach of incoming aircraft in the Carrier Air Traffic Control Center (CATCC) aboard the aircraft carrier USS John F Kennedy (CV 67). Kennedy and Carrier Air Wing Seventeen (CVW-17) are operating in the Middle East region as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). Units in the Kennedy Carrier Strike Group are working closely with Multi-National Corps-Iraq and Iraqi forces to bring stability to the sovereign government of Iraq.
