English: U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Cory Kotrous, 31st Maintenance Squadron aircraft structural maintenance journeyman, assembles an electric sander before sanding a F-16 Fighting Falcon fuel tank, Feb. 3, 2015, at Aviano Air Base, Italy. Sanding is considered one of the steps before painting an aircraft parts and improves paint and metal cohesion. Airmen clean the piece before applying primer and painting aircraft.
