Descrição: Monumento constituído por quatro volumes independentes, tendo no principal um conjunto escultórico monumental de grande verticalidade, moldado em bronze, onde sobressai uma estátua sobre um alto pedestal representando um bombeiro, numa plástica figurativa de tendência expressionista, na linha de outras obras do autor, da sua da fase inicial, como a Estátua do João Paulo VI em Leiria. Historial: A assinalar o XIX Congresso da Liga dos Bombeiros Portugueses, realizado entre 9 e 13 de Setembro de 1970, é inaugurado o monumento de homenagem aos soldados da paz. A epígrafe colocada em 2001 relembra, esse convénio de bombeiros e a sua repercussão na evolução do movimento em Portugal. Elaborada por D. João Charters de Almeida (1935-...), a escultura partiu da iniciativa da Câmara Municipal de Aveiro e foi descerrada pelo então presidente da República, Almirante Américo Tomás.
