English: In 1912, August Olson of Monroe, Washington attended a masked ball as the A.D. Condo character "Mister Skygack, from Mars". He had a photo taken of himself in costume, and sent it to the Tacoma Times (one of the many newspapers where the "Mister Skygack, from Mars" comic strip appeared), where it was published on the front page on May 24 of that year. |
