English: keratinocytes in spinous layer of epidermis.The spine like cytoplasmic processes of keratinocytes can be seen which contain tonofilaments inserted into desmosomes hence holding the keratinocytes together.(Normally these spines are not very evident, but becomes so when there is edema between the keratinocytes like in this case) |
