File:Chiminigagua Hubble 2018 annotated.gif
Summary
| Description |
English: Timelapse of 532037 Chiminigagua (formerly 2013 FY27) and its moon (the smaller gray moving dot next to it) as seen by the Hubble Space Telescope's WFC3 camera from 5 January 2018 to 11 July 2018. Chiminigagua was 79.4 AU from Earth in January 2018 and 80.6 AU from Earth in July 2018. The moon is seen orbiting Chiminigagua over time, in a back and forth motion.
On the bottom left corner, a white horizontal scale bar is shown to indicate the apparent scale at Chiminigagua's distance (arcseconds to km along the sky plane). On the bottom right corner, the date and time of the image is shown, as well as a compass to indicate the orientation of the images. North is up and East is left. Source images have been in public domain since 2019-01-11; these come from the Hubble program IDs 15248 and 15460 (led by Scott S. Sheppard). All images were taken in the WFC3 camera's F350P broadband visible filter. Each frame in this animation was darken blended with other frames to remove noise and cosmic rays. |
