The Lexington Ave. Arts And Fun Festitval is a relatively small, single day festival, but perhaps Asheville's best. Locally oriented and family friendly, it's more about enjoying the arts and having a good time than making a lot of money. It's also a photographer's dream event.

For me, it's a great opportunity to create portraits of people without feeling that pointing my camera at someone makes me a paparazzi. It's a creative arts celebration, and I'm always looking for interesting or photogenic subjects and "Norman Rockwell moments", but I never post what I think could be considered an embarrassing or rudely intrusive photo of anyone.
