English: Name: Lod Mosaic Museum Description: In 1996, during salvage excavations, an amazing and impressive mosaic was discovered, one of the most complete and impressive to be discovered in Israel and the world. The mosaic dates back to the Roman period, 3rd-4th centuries AD, is 17 meters long and 9 meters wide. It consists of approximately 2.4 million mosaics, stone and glass and includes 30 colors and shades. עברית: שם: מוזיאון פסיפסי לוד תיאור: ב-1996 במהלך חפירות הצלה התגלה פסיפס מדהים ומרשים שהוא מהשלמים והמרשימים שהתגלו בארץ ובעולם. הפסיפס תוארך לתקופה הרומית, מאות 3-4 לספירה, אורכו 17 מטר ורוחבו 9. מורכב מכ-2.4 מיליון אבני פספס, אבן וזכוכית וכולל 30 צבעים וגוונים. הערות: הפסיפס נעשה בביתו של איש אמיד בסלון הבית ובחצר וכולל מסגרות מלבניות שבתוכן מדליונים מעוטרים מעולם החי סצנות ציד וקרבות של חיות זו בזו. בשל בעיות מימון הפסיפס כוסה ורק בשנים האחרונות בסיוע תרומה פילנטרופית הריצפה עברה תהליך שימור ונבנה מעליה מבנה המוזיאון האוצר בתוכו ממצאים ארכיאולוגיים נוספים שנחשפו בלוד מיקום: רחוב סטרומה -9 לוד קובץ מקורי: IMG_4584.JPG |
