The American Indian and Irish American caricatures both hold bottles labeled "RYE", indicating alcohol (as alcoholism was a stereotype of both demographics); the Irish American caricature also holds a club, referencing the American stereotype that Irish immigrants were distinctively violent. The Chinese American caricature has his hair in an exaggerated queue (a hairstyle common to Chinese immigrants to the United States at the time) and holds a long smoking pipe, perhaps a reference to the stereotype that Chinese were addicted to opium.
