This beautiful piece is labelled "Entr'acte", which is a French word meaning "between the acts" (intermezzo in Italian). Silvio Hein (1879-1928) wrote the music for 14 Broadway shows, was an accomplished composer and songwriter who lived in New York City. He primarily wrote songs for Broadway but also released a few ragtime pieces. On the cover it states: "Danced by the distinguished artists Maurice and Florence Walton at the Century Theater & The Biltmore". This piece was also recorded on piano roll by McNair Ilgenfritz in 1919. This score was published by Carl Millegram in New York in 1917.
