Title
"Aeronautique Orly" Ribbon Given to Charles and Anne Lindbergh
Description
This black ribbon has "AERONAUTIQUE ORLY" embroidered on one side. It was given to Charles and Anne Lindbergh, possibly during their trip to Paris, France, in the summer of 1933. The embroidery may refer to the Orly Airport near Paris, which opened in 1932, although the Lindbergh's landed their Lockheed Sirius at Les Mereaux. They gave the ribbon to the Missouri Historical Society in 1934, along with two other similar ribbons (see 1934-024-0078 and 1934-024-0080).
