Autopatrol

Cca Raheem

Cca Raheem (talk) 04:36, 26 April 2025 (UTC)
I'll write in English because I don't believe I'd able to convey this well enough in French. I have a concern that you may have issues with copyrights of logos, there are multiple copyright violation messages on your talk page from November. Abzeronow (talk) 18:34, 26 April 2025 (UTC)

I need upload some media file like mp3 and i cant uploaded it. Thank you. --是橙🍊子🍊哦! 10:26, 27 April 2025 (UTC)
I have read your post at the Village Pump/Zh and I recommend the 2nd option that User:RoyZuo gave you. MP3s are restricted because sound recordings are more complex than most other media when it comes to copyright. Abzeronow (talk) 17:54, 27 April 2025 (UTC)

Erdnussflip007

Hi, I am creating new .svg files of COA and flags in Germany and would like to also be able to upload corrected linework and tinctures to already existing files. Especially in cases where the convention DEU_<City>_COA and DEU_<City>_Banner are already used but have wildly different colors while using the same svg coa it would be helpfull to not have to replace every mention of the file. Also cases where the flag uses an older version of the coa with some line errors, that are already corrected in the coa file. Would also reduce the amount of file corpses. Thank you. Erdnussflip007 (talk) 08:41, 6 May 2025 (UTC)
Your edit count is still rather low. Abzeronow (talk) 19:40, 6 May 2025 (UTC)
Just saw the pop up at the top with 500 edits. Yeah I do not have that many. Would be useful to have this right, but if it's only the edits, I can come back when I have 500. Was used to the 100 edit limit of other wikis, so assumed it was the same here. Erdnussflip007 (talk) 05:27, 7 May 2025 (UTC)
Not done for now. Edit count too low. Abzeronow (talk) 21:27, 11 May 2025 (UTC)

Requesting permission to be able to upload RFK assassination-related audio files. It came as a surprise today, but the National Archives released several hundred MP3 audio files (and a total of 60,000 documents) from the assassination. Ones like this. I tried to upload one, but it was detected as "unconstructive" and was denied. I have read all the needed policies, and I have interacted with a lot of the JFK assassination files as well (started adding those to Wikisource as well...File:JFK Assassination File 104-10012-10022.pdf is an example of one of those that I uploaded to the Commons). Not a newcomer (over 4,500 contributions on the Commons alone with over 32,000 on English Wikipedia), just needing the permission to continue doing what I have been doing. Thank you. WeatherWriter (talk) 00:14, 8 May 2025 (UTC)
I did see this request yesterday. 2024 has a lot of DR activity on your talk page, but that was from uploads that at the time were believed to be public domain photographs posted on NWS websites. And I do see the Kennedy-related files you've uploaded. I will probably grant, but I'll leave the request open a little bit longer. Abzeronow (talk) 23:52, 8 May 2025 (UTC)
@Abzeronow: To make my case, all the 2024 DR activity is from {{PD-NWS}} being deprecated after 20-years. There was a long RFC Commons:Requests for comment/Third-party images published by the National Weather Service which affected a little less than 2,000 images across Wikimedia/Wikipedia. Category:National Weather Service-related deletion requests/deleted has 230 deletion requests alone, just from that RFC. Note, the seven I uploaded prior to the RFC were at Commons:Deletion requests/Third-party photos hosted by the NWS uploaded by WeatherWriter, just one of the 230 DRs in that category. The 2024 DR activity should be disregarded, given it was not a lapse in policy knowledge by me, but directly from the deprecation of a PD template used for 20 years. Esubat

I would like to have the autopatrol right because I can't upload new version of files. Thank you. Esubat (talk) 09:23, 11 May 2025 (UTC)
Your edit count is above 500, but most of those appear to be extremely minor edits. Abzeronow (talk) 19:58, 12 May 2025 (UTC)
I plan to upload new files, but I absolutely need these rights for new version of those already upload by other users, so... Thanks. Esubat (talk) 21:16, 12 May 2025 (UTC)
I would suggest you to request some files you plan to do now at COM:OWR. Once we see your work it would be easy to decide. Shaan SenguptaTalk 11:14, 13 May 2025 (UTC)
Thanks for your advice, but could I have these rights anyway, which can help me even with other edits? Thank you. Esubat (talk) 11:19, 13 May 2025 (UTC)
@Esubat you've already been told that though you've crossed the 500 mark, majority of your edits are bot-like. We would really appreciate if you show us some good work and experience and then ask for rights. The reason you gave was not being able to upload new version to which I showed you a way. I hope you understand. Thank you. Shaan SenguptaTalk 14:19, 13 May 2025 (UTC)
Very well, I understand. Thank you. Esubat (talk) 14:35, 13 May 2025 (UTC)

Perspective correction, sharpness of images, i.e. https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Actors_Equity_Building_165_W46_in_2021_jeh.jpg Thank you. RIMOLA (talk) 12:19, 11 May 2025 (UTC)
Hello @RIMOLA, your edit count is way behind the 500 mark. You can request that at COM:OWR. I would still discourage overwriting someone's own work until extremely necessary. Shaan SenguptaTalk 15:05, 11 May 2025 (UTC)
Not done, edit count is too low. Kadı Message 20:38, 11 May 2025 (UTC)

Beonus

I often find myself needing to overwrite other people's files, as I am a member of the graphics workshop on Wikipedia, and leaving requests all the time is not very convenient. At the time of this request, I'm 14 edits short of 500, but I suppose that's not critical. Thank you. Beonus (talk) 23:14, 12 May 2025 (UTC)

Freedoxm

This is a re-request of my previous request, which was rejected due to carelessness. It's been around a month. Sometimes, I've had the need to overwrite files without tags, and I wouldn't want to keep requesting for the tag. Thank you. 🗽Freedoxm🗽 (talk) 20:40, 13 May 2025 (UTC)

Grnrchst

I would like to request autopatrol rights so I can overwrite files myself, rather than individually requesting access each time I do so. (I've requested individual access 6 times over the past two years) I have made 688 edits to Wikicommons and I have uploaded over 100 images, including historical photographs and vector drawings. I have recently been doing work to improve information about the source of historical photographs and their public domain status. Thank you. Grnrchst (talk) 11:10, 14 May 2025 (UTC)

I am trainer and organizer of Wikimedia activities in South America, a patroller, and I come across files with various naming issues. I would like this right to contribute to the Commons community. Thank you. Felino Volador (talk) 14:56, 11 May 2025 (UTC)
