Yemeni flags and emblems

Hello! This request might be a bit big but it sure will be fun for someone interested in vexillology.

So, I found out that crwflags added more flags related to Yemen and it would be nice to have those vectorized here.

  • Army/Armed Forces flag (Already exists File:Flag of the Yemen Armed Forces.svg but needs to be updated to be inline with the source that crw used),
  • General Staff (which the guy making the flags messed up with and forgot to add a Yemeni flag on the top right corner),

Sadly not; The file you listed has the words "لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّٰهُ مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ ٱللَّٰهِ" "la ilaha illa Allah" written but the crwflags file has the words لا معبود بحق إلا الله

 Disagree I do not think it's done. the flag's colors looks off. The white should be 100% white. The flag needs to be cropped and the emblem could use a little more detail. I'm not saying it was traced because it clearly isn't, but it does lack some quality. I think there are still improvements to be made before this section can be resolved. @En rouge: I apologise for the lack of communication. The shade of blue has been inconsistent, but various sources I've found online use the darker, less vivid shades. I can't access the U.S. Army Institute of Heraldry website, where I'd find official info, due to a 504 Error. See here (the division's Facebook page) and here (portrait of the division's Commanding General). For the proposal, I prefer this version, as the contrast is much better given the lack of consistency in sources. SuperWIKI (talk) 16:11, 19 March 2025 (UTC)

From your link U.S. Army Institute of Heraldry website, I got two images:
And from your sources and other sources:
  • green can vary from forest green, to moss green, to khaki...
  • blue is also in a wide range of colors.
=> it's up to you
Design/shape:
  • it seems that the cross don't have right angles at the center (see , , , , , , , , ), it's rather a Santa Fe Cross (unknown design), but with rounded corners, or with bevels, at the center.
=> it's up to you
But we can stay there, as many displays of this insignia don't care about colors or bevels...

@Cypp0847: Still not done as the defective teeth and claws are an embedded PNG file, which, obviously, cannot be edited in a vector app. You'll need to remove that file and draw the teeth and claws from scratch using the regular vector drawing tools. To remove the PNG file, either: Select the bitmap element with the select tool and hit 'delete'. or Open the file in your t ext editor of choice, and remove the base64 block between <pattern id="pattern" preserveAspectRatio="none" width="100%" height="100%" viewBox="0 0 35 66"> and </pattern>, along with the opening and closing pattern tags that bracket the block. Feedback request which version is better?

Both of these files are my derivative svg with W3C valid markup. They are meant to be faithful reproductions of the right image on File:Een boekje met prentjes waarbij wat te lezen staat voor brave kinderen - Deel 2 - PPN 290992966 - Image 11.jpeg. I assume there is little reason to have both. Which version is better? Why?

Sledge flags used by Robert Falcon Scott

If possible, could somebody please create SVG files for the three sledge flags used by Captain Scott throughout both the Discovery Expedition (1901–1904) and Terra Nova Expedition (1910–1913) in Antarctica, including:

1) His sledge flag during the Discovery Expedition, based on this PNG version here.

2) His primary sledge flag during the Terra Nova Expedition, as seen here (very similar to the Discovery version, but still with many noticeable differences).

3) His second sledge flag during the Terra Nova Expedition, as seen and described (if you click on the picture's caption) here.

Icons with white borders

Hi! The first four original files are fine as is and don’t need any kind of modifications. The fifth and sixth ones should be modified to have the dimensions and colors of their original counterparts. A seventh and eighth one should be made also matching their original counterparts, just with the white borders added. Additionally, hopefully the dimensions of the white borders for the last four icons can also be modified based on the "Station signage” section on this website. @Mrmw: However, I've some doubt about color values ; notably blue one (your values are #4DBD38 #009DDB). Blue value seems very, very 'cyan' (too much – to my eyes –), related to given photos, and sto.ca documents.
Have you reliable sources for these color values?
In plan de la station Taché-UQO, values are #51BC4A and #00A9DF.
In initial downloaded logo, values are #52B7AB and #088DCF. I don't know the source, I've used this later values for my own work. Have you any comment?

Update the numbers and fractions of this pie chart.
This image has now been removed from en.wikipedia's papal conclave article for no longer being accurate. There are now two cardinals not attending: one from Spain, one from Kenya. They are correct, but as Glrx mentioned, the numbers could stand to be better-centered in their circles. I'm not really sure how to do it so it looks centered in all the fonts it gets rendered in. Is the best practice to pick a font to avoid this problem? TheSavageNorwegian 13:54, 7 May 2025 (UTC)
The file displays OK on Commons (which has the DejaVu Sans font), but when I look at the SVG in my browser on Windows, the browser substitutes the Times New Roman font and the numbers then skew left due to the differing font metrics. Specifying a particular font does not help because that font may not be available on all viewers. The SVG should use text-anchor: middle to center the text no matter which font is used. In addition, SVG files should use CSS fallback fonts to make sure that the serif / sans-serif distinction is kept. Glrx (talk) 16:46, 7 May 2025 (UTC)

Animation of Lobe Switching

An animated GIF of lobe switching. I created a storyboard to illustrate the different parts of the animation. (Note that there can be more than just four frames.) I believe I have an adequate understanding of the principle involved, but if someone with more expertise sees something wrong, please feel free make a correction.
It would be similar in concept to a animation of conical scanning, but only switching between two positions horizontally rather than a circular pattern and with two fluctuating points on the oscilliscope. An example of what a radar scope would look like can be found on HyperWar. I would like to request the vectorisation of the coats of arms of the city of Hải Dương during the French domination period in the history of the Nguyễn Dynasty.
  •  Addendum, The colour scheme of the Hải Dương municipal coat of arms is consistent as other examples are found here (note that some of the images on the shield are also more visible on it there). I have imported all of these images to the Wikimedia Commons, so here are more general duty (revenue tax) stamps of the French Tonkinese city of Hải-Dương to show more details of the 4 (four) images within the heraldic shield:

Several of the elements found in this coat of arms are similar to the coats of arms of other French Tonkinese cities, for example the mural crown 👑 element is consistent with the Hanoian and Haiphongese coats of arms, though the colour scheme is slightly more intricate.
