This was built and completed sometime between April 2010 and March 2013, based on the old satellite imagery of Google Earth's timelapse. There is no Freedom of Panorama in the Philippines, making these images infringements on architectural copyright.

The term lugares publicos has been interpreted to include both interior and exterior public places, such as government-owned places such as libraries, markets, parks, and public gardens. Unfortunately, there is little available guidance on how the exact interpretation.

 Comment One way that this file might be out of copyright is that the information that was provided by the Flickr uploader might be incorrect. For example, the same Flickr user has labeled a 1900s poster of the Russian Empire as "Old Soviet advertisement" (see File:Old Soviet advertising (19) (54259929965).jpg and my reasoning for requesting a rename of the file, plus the fact that the company that produced that advertisement only existed from 1870 to 1915 per , so we can clearly tell that it's not a Soviet advertisement). Furthermore, some former Soviet countries have shorter copyright protection time frames (e.g. Belarus only offers 50 years of copyright protection). The text in the poster is in Lithuanian. I don't know for how long Lithuania offers copyright protection. And the question is also whether it's actually a 1985 poster. Is the prominently placed "50" in the poster meant to indicate that the Soviet Union had existed for 50 years at that point? If so, then it would place the poster rather in the late 1960s than 1985. each single image is made by me - as well as the poster compilation. the reference given in "probably copyvio, see [1]" is the place where my poster image was stolen by a russian website. its an interesting feature the an image is marked as "copyright violation" after it was posted to the Commons:Photo challenge ...!? Both of the sleeves on either side of the image are United States Army uniforms. (USAID and the US Army often worked together in the field.)
This photograph was taken while Ragaei was on deployment with USAID, being escorted by US Army soldiers to ensure his safety. Guylaen (talk) 10:31, 14 May 2025 (UTC)

The uploader (which I have blocked) is probably another sock of User:Oltregiu1991. I have already deleted one clear copyvio which was established by a reverse image search. Given the various uploaders' history with these "Baglioni" uploads, they should all be deleted per the precautionary principle.

I've been my whole life uploading pictures of people to Wikimedia Commons, and I've always used the same field size. I believe it's pretty obvious the main topic of each of the pictures are the authors themselves (who didn't had any picture or didn't had a new one for a decade), and I believe those are pretty average pictures of people in a book booth. So no, I can't agree with your proposal, which I believe it is an abuse of Commons:Deletion policy. ¿Can you tell me how realistically can anyone use any of these pictures to infringe Winnie the Pooh's copyright?--TaronjaSatsuma (talk) 18:39, 14 May 2025 (UTC)

    I agree that it seems unlikely that the Press Association hold copyright on a mugshot, as they are generally owned by police forces, so I looked again. It seems that Gloucestershire Police own this image as acknowledged by BBC News here in a later article. That seems more likely as he lived in Gloucester.     Honestly, this seems like this is going into speculation. There's no doubt that the MPS mugshots would be protected as Crown Copyright under British law, but does the CPS have the right to release custody photos under the OGL? It seems unlikely that the MPS, in their quality as a Crown body, would be any more entitled to copyright protection than "the Crown" would be as a whole. In this case, it would be more accurate to say that "the Crown" would be the ultimate copyright holder compared to the MPS.
    The last deletion request determined that this was the case, since the CPS is an arm of the British state and a Crown body. Furthermore, I have a hard time believing that the CPS, which police services work hand-in-hand with, wouldn't have any sort of publication agreement with police services.     It's up to those wishing to keep the photo to show proof that there is no copyright issue. As far as I know, the police service that took the photo retains the copyright. Crown copyright isn't a free-for-all, there are many caveats, including for what can and cannot be done with police custody photos such as this.     In English civil law, the level of proof that that is required in court is one of "balance of probability" while in criminal law it is one of "beyond reasonable doubt". I think that you are trying to apply a proof that is true beyond reasonable doubt when all that is required is one that is true on the balance of probability - after all breach of copyright is a civil matter, not a criminal matter. I'm not sure what your question is, but de minimis use applies when a small portion of a work includes some copyrighted element, like if you have a photo of Times Square that has a copyrighted posted in on a building or if you have a video that briefly shows a screenshot of a copyrighted film playing in the background. That a putatively better image may or may not be available is not germane to this discussion. Commons does not deal with vanities, it deals with correctly licenced files. This one is correctly licenced. It is doubtless one of many freely available images of this subject.
