English: description of the Mie plasmon model, displaying Mie scattering. A molecule is globally neutrally charged ; it then absorbs a photon (γ), thus disturbing its neutrality ; electrons (red) and nucleus (blue) fields consequently attract each other ; this accelerated motion scatters a photon, according to Larmor.
