English: The first generation of 2-6-6-0T (tank) locomotives came in batches in 1904, 1905, 1909, 1910 and 1911 from German builders (Schwartzkopff/Berliner and Hartmann) and Dutch builder (Werkspoor) for Java Staatsspoorwegen. These locomotives were working on heavy mountains section in Java for mixed passenger and freight trains, they succeeded the earlier generation of SS Mallet (2-4-4-0T) which came to Java in early 1900.
