Edit kind: I was trying to ask a question to someone, trying to verify hex colors for Ontario road signs. However, it said the following: "An automated filter has identified this edit as potentially unconstructive, and it has been disallowed. If this edit is constructive, please report this error."

Comments: In the abuse log, it showed "LTA 257", which I don't understand what is triggering this filter. It is hidden from public view as well. I tried to remove various different parts of the message, but it did not work, as my edits were blocked 3 more times; when checking the abuse log, they showed the same filter description. I wasn't trying to do anything harmful; I'm just asking a question, and I am scared about being blocked from editing for this.

@13yarik: The short answer is that you are too new. PDF uploads are monitored by Special:AbuseFilter/281. Mediawiki:Abusefilter-disallowed-pdf-new-user-upload has the untranslated disallow message for that. Technically, that filter requires any user wanting to upload a PDF file to have '"confirmed" in user_rights'. That equates to "autoconfirmed" user group membership (conferred automatically four days after registration) or "confirmed" user group membership (granted earlier by an Admin; currently at three members). See COM:Confirmed for more info. @Anohthterwikipedian: Too many people try to upload audio files that are still copyrighted by the authors, performers, recorders, publishing companies, etc. without proper licenses from those people. Please read MediaWiki:Abusefilter-warning-mp3. Please document fully the sources and licenses of your audio uploads, and request COM:AP group membership at COM:RFR when you think you are ready (once you have made more than 500 useful non-botlike edits); having that should allow you to upload mp3 files. In the meantime, please reencode any other audio into Vorbis or Opus and upload them with full documentation as .ogg files. mp3 is specifically targeted because that was the pervasive format used by napster and successors, and is therefore the pervasive format with a legacy corpus of nonfree shared music that gives Admins the most headaches. Then SchlurcherBot claimed that as the inception date. Thanks for the clarification, Jeff. Just to explain, I know the uploader was already notified on Commons. I was trying to leave a note on their Wikipedia user talk page, since it looks like they might not be seeing Commons notifications.

Yes, I know but they aren't responding on their Commons talk page...so are there any alternatives? Im not sure why this is so hard to understand. This the reason why I tried reaching out through Wikipedia before moving ahead with deletion.

When was the new logo approved? We could use that year in the name of the new logo, move the old logo to a name including when it was approved, and redirect the current svg logo file description page to the new svg one for consistency along the lines of what Jmabel is trying to do with flags. The image you tried to upload is smaller, and you indicated it's your own work. Usually when someone uploads a smaller image, it is a copyright violation taken from the web. If you made the image yourself, please upload the full-size original of it per COM:HR, including EXIF metadata. If you did not make the image, please see Commons:Licensing for why we can't accept it, and have the image photographer / designer license it on their official website or social media, or send the image and permission via VRT with a carbon copy to you. If you can't get a compliant license, the image may still be uploaded to English Wikipedia in compliance with en:WP:F because we don't allow Fair Use here. If you use our Upload Wizard instead, you should be able to avoid that filter. You have also triggered that same filter 153 by trying to cross-wiki upload a png image as a new user. Such uploads of png images are not allowed at all. You indicated each is your own work. Usually when someone uploads a png image, it's a copyright violation taken from the web. Please upload the full-size original of each per COM:HR, including any metadata, but it may be judged too complex to be under TOO in the country of origin, so you (or the photographer or designer) may need to license them on your official website or social media or send permission via VRT. Also, any png image will look fuzzy when scaled down (due to design decisions discussed in phab:T192744) or jaggy when scaled up, so you may want to upload an svg or jpg version, too. If you use our Upload Wizard instead, you should be able to avoid filter 153.
