This map is not accuracy and includes a gross exaggeration. We discussed not only in talk page (en:File talk:OttomanEmpireIn1683.png) of this file, but also in WikiProject Ottoman Empire and problems are detected specifically. However uploader is not active and other users don't and/or cannot try to fix errors (Unfortunately, I don't have know-how of editing maps.). - Keep:The historical maps are never as accurate as modern geographical maps. The border line in certain poorly populated areas may be approximate. However this map is quite realistic. It shows the maximum extention of the empire. The border line in poorly populated areas (like Kuban in north east of Black Sea and deserts of North Africa) may be approximate . But other than that there is nothing wrong with the map. But as I had prevously remarked in English Wikipedia, the name is misleading. This map shows the territory in 1590s not in 1683. If desired, the name may be moved to Ottoman Empire at the end of 16th century. Nedim Ardoğa (talk) 08:56, 20 October 2011 (UTC)
