File:Cricket_Ireland_flag.svg

I believe this image is a copyright violation. The green three-shamrock logo on a blue background is used by Cricket Ireland for the team, since it is composed of players from both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, and a single national flag is not appropriate. You can see the logo on the uniform of a player in this photograph. This flag also appears (in icon size) on some cricket results pages, such as here. The logo/flag have never been released under a free license, so copyright is still retained by the original creator. Although this SVG image was drawn in good-faith by User:Sannita, I believe it is still a derivative work of a copyrighted image, and therefore cannot be hosted on Commons. I also note that this image has been discussed previously at en:Wikipedia:WikiProject Cricket where the conclusion is that no flag icon can be freely used to represent the Irish cricket team. Previous similar images such as File:Flag of Ireland cricket team.JPG and File:Flag of Ireland cricket team.svg have also been deleted for copyright violation. — Andrwsc (talk) 17:41, 14 September 2010 (UTC)

What about Rugby? --84.61.172.89 19:00, 14 September 2010 (UTC)

What about it? If you are referring to File:IRFU flag.svg, the license is clear that copyright has expired for that specific image. It differs from the flag that uses the current copyrighted IRFU logo (which is not hosted on Commons). — Andrwsc (talk) 20:33, 14 September 2010 (UTC)
