Summary
| Description |
English: Idealised single-phase w:transformer showing the path of w:magnetic flux through the core. w:Magnetic flux is produced by the primary winding, and contained by the high permeability core, links the secondary winding. The w:mutual inductance between the two windings results in an induced w:voltage on the secondary side, whose magnitude is determined by the ratio of turns between the two windings. A transformer has two coils, primary and secondary. The primary coil receives the input voltage, whereas, the secondary coil produces the output voltage.
