Lernaeenicus sprattae (Sowerby, 1806)

English: The eye maggot of sprat, a parasitic copepod on its host sprat (Sprattus sprattus) from the Nieuwpoort dredge disposal site on the Belgian continental shelf (Southern North Sea).
The teal paired threadlike appendages on each of the two parasites are the eggsacks. The copepod is attached to the eye of the sprat.
