These maps need two improvements; the background needs making transparent, and they need cropping tightly around the outside of the map/inserts. The insert showing Karachi could also be moved in order to allow even closer cropping (which would mean the map displays at a larger size) as was done in this one. @PawełMM: Could the cropping be done a bit more tightly (so there is no space around the extreme edges of the maps? Also, you cropped out the left-hand edge of the box around Karachi in the 1990, 1993, 1997 and 2002 maps and the bottom edge of the box in the 1993, 1997 and 2002 maps. • Given these dates and facts, I can believe that Smial spent time on an unnecessary edit.
• On 2025-03-13 Smial added the two cropped images as other versions in the Summary section.
• Thanks to Smial, this "Other Versions" field has been filled in. You should have filled it yourself, as you did in your edited image.

 Comment: AnonIP user 37.159.61.180, this is something you can do yourself very easily by following these details. I suggest you use the CropTool that can be activated in your commons Preferences, under Gadgets. The CropTool will then appear on the left panel of the image in question. It saves everyone a lot of time because it transfers all the correct and appropriate information into the cropped image, such as source, license, author, etc. It even leaves a backlink to the original and visa versa so long as the original has been positively reviewed. That way all the proper information is there and does not need to be manually reviewed by volunteers. If you are just cropping a small bit of the image like a frame you can decide to overwrite the original image but for more major crops you should upload the cropped version as a separate new image with a different name, but you have a choice. Cleanup to make more presentable

Hello. I am the original uploader of this image. I once had the original magazine. I don't want major alterations to be made that would make necessary the creation of a new file name. I was just hoping this one could be tweaked or made more presentable. Notice how the sides are darker than the center, for instance. I'd appreciate just some touch-ups to improve the overall quality without creating a new file name. That mostly means lightening up those darkened shadow areas, so that everything blends in better.
