I'm not trusting the blanket CC-By 4.0 statement on the source page: the file was uploaded there with a boilerplate IMG**** name, no ALT texts, do description, meaning there was no redactional oversight for it. Earlier today, I individually submitted speedy deletion requests for a handful of images uploaded by this user due to copyright violations. The images not included in this request were found to be uploaded in other places much earlier and were either copyright-protected or were not the uploader's original work. For the images that are included here, while they couldn't be reverse image searched outside of Commons (except for an altered version of "Royaumes Arameens"), I find it highly probable that these were also taken from outside sources and are either not the original uploader's content, or the original uploader wouldn't be able to provide proof they had permission to upload these files.

Although I understand not everything published online is automatically public domain, this particular image was made publicly available for informational and official use, consistent with many images of public officials.
If necessary, I can provide a source or further context to support this. Please let me know what documentation would be considered sufficient to verify that it qualifies for commons use.

Questionable sourcing, and lack of sources raise concerns. putting the term public domain in quotation marks really doesn't give too much confidence, especially for the more contemporary photos.

Dear Alachuckthebuck. Dear All. Thank you for your concerns.
I would like to clarify that all of the portraits I uploaded are official government-issued portraits, sourced directly from government websites, press releases, or campaign materials of public figures. These images were released for official use, and in some cases, THEY ARE THE ONLY PUBLICLY AVAILABLE PORTRAITS USED CONSISTENTLY by government institutions, news outlets, and educational organizations.
I understand that the use of the term "Public domain" may not always be appropriate without specific legal wording or proof, so I am currently in the process of:
  1. Collecting and adding proper source URLs to each file.
  2. Identifying any public domain or government licensing language from the source sites
  3. Replacing the tag if needed, with a more accurate licence
If any particular file needs urgent attention, please let me know and I will prioritize verifying and sourcing that one.
I greatly value the Commons community and will cooperate fully to ensure proper licensing compliance. I kindly ask for time to address this, rather than mass deletion.

Keep in mind just because an image is used by a government, doesn't make it copyright free; it depends on who produced the image and what each country's laws are about copyright status of government works. For example, the file "CP 2604 in new livery at Contumil.png" was originally posted to Flickr by Nuno Cortesão under the "All rights reserved" licence (see the proof), and the images for Baldwin diesels 58501 and 62000 appeared to have been taken from the website "yardlimit.railfan.net". This mass-deletion nomination has a very similar background for Consist4q and Zai.zidan.5688, who likewise had uploaded other people's images under "Own work". --EditorGirlAL07 (talk) 05:50, 19 June 2025 (UTC)

The original pictures has been released by the amusement park Legoland Billund Resort under the free license CC BY 3.0 (Danish: Creative Commons navngivelse). The original buildings may be subject to copyright in their various countries. Photo's of this starry ceiling are uploaded again and again. This is not allowed, the design is still copyrighted, and there is no FOP in Germany. Photos inside train stations in Germany have in addition not been accepted, per https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Village_pump/Proposals/Archive/2023/06#Allow_photos_taken_inside_of_train_stations_or_tunnels_in_Germany . Therefore these images should be deleted imho.

@Marcus Cyron it seems clear in the law itself that German FoP does not apply to all interior architectures. From the law itself (in English translation): "(1) It is permitted to reproduce, distribute and make available to the public works located permanently on public paths, roads or open spaces. In the case of buildings, this authorisation only extends to the façade." Only building exteriors can be freely photographed and shared commercially on the Internet stock archives like Commons, Flickr, Unsplash etc. with legality from German law. But the wording makes buildings the exception, not the rule? Like: the rule is you can photograph everything that is in public space. The only thing that you can not photograph despite it being a permanent public space are interiors of buildings. But anything other than buildings can be photographed even if it's the interiors of that "something". Are train (or metro) stations/platforms "buildings"? They don't have a façade — does that mean that they are not buildings? They are also permanently publicly accessible and they serve (at least occasionally) as underpasses (or overpasses) and thus are "paths"? So, do they fall under the "rule" or do they fall under the "exception" that specifically only applies to "buildings"? I would call a metro station a "building". It's rather a "tunnel". And in Germany, metro stations usually aren't accessed through a building-like structure either. There are just stairs on the street that lead downstairs like to an underpass. The stations also often have an exit on both sides — just like "tunnels". The stations are also just platforms within a metro tunnel. It's like an underground road for a metro, where the station is not a "building" of its own but just a "pit stop" / parking space for metros. It's just a niche within a tunnel. And tunnel interiors would fall under FoP I'd think because they are basically just roads with a ceiling; they are not buildings. Nakonana (talk) 12:20, 2 October 2024 (UTC)
According to the building regulations (Musterbauordung) train stations are buildings through the permission process is different to other buildings. In the fee schedule (HOAI) they are not in the building category as they have their own category. But they are not public places like streets as they are owned by a public company and not directly by a public authority and they are not declared as public streets.     I think there are definitely efforts in the background. There was also the idea that we need to bring this question to the court in some way but in the past there was not a singe known case where the architect of a train or underground station tried to enforce the copyright on the building.     @A.Savin perhaps Rosenzweig is still a member of Wikimedia Deutschland? I have to admit, while Germany is the birthplace of FoP and an antithesis of France which is against commercial FoP, the FoP law does seem outdated and only applicable to the era before the prevalence of information technology and digital media. In particular, German courts tend to not give FoP rights to photographers who use drones or helicopters to photograph works from air. The German FoP, by its essence, is almost the same as its incarnation during much of the 20th century (and was originally giving rights to painters who reproduce buildings and sculptures in their paintings and then to sell those paintings without permissions from architects or sculptors). I also wouldn't say that the ceiling is star-like. Those just round LED lamps in a blue-painted ceiling. They don't have a star-shape (in the way that stars are often represented in art 🌟 ). It's also not a starry sky because you can't see stars when the sky is blue; you can only see them at night when the star is nearly black; and stars have "random" placement, they don't come in lines and rows like here. Would you still say that it is a starry sky or a creative ceiling if the ceiling was painted light blue (like during day time) or even red/orange to represent sunset? Weather the (obvious) intent is to depict a night sky or anything else is irrelevant, what matters is the work itself and that is too simple.     @Abzeronow: I think we would have a hard time arguing that the design of the Museumsinsel station is below the threshold of originality under German copyright law, which is why photos of it have been regularly deleted for quite some time.
    While I am here, I should note that the statement quoted by @IronGargoyle is incorrect, Germany abandoned the special threshold of originality for applied art in 2013 (which did not include architecture in the first place). In Deutschland haben wir diese Einschränkung betreffend Innenaufnahmen und, wie auch anderswo, wenn seit dem Tod des Autors (hier: des Architekten) noch keine 70 Jahre vergangen sind. Bedeutet: beispielsweise dieses U-Bahn-Foto ist für Commons unbedenklich, da es eine Außenaufnahme ist und für solche hierzulande in jedem Fall Panoramafreiheit gilt. Und bei Fotos von U-Bahnstationen, die von Alfred Grenander (gestorben 1931) entworfen sind, sind sowohl Außen- als auch Innenaufnahmen unbedenklich. --A.Savin 00:27, 24 September 2024 (UTC)

The three photos *200400*, *200410*, *200603* constitute an independent work and should therefore be kept.
Due to the composition with the dynamically blurred moving trains, the level of creation for an independent work has been reached.
In these three pictures, the ceiling with the blue sky is only an insignificant accessory.
The choice of point of view, angle of view and exposure time has resulted in the depiction of the departing/arriving trains that is decisive for the three pictures, in which the lights of the train follow long tracks and the lamps on the pillars are reflected in the windows of the train.
