Summary
Description |
English: The Viceroy's Lodge (now Institute of Advanced Studies)
'The Harry Potter's Castle' is how locals love to describe this place. And rightfully so, apart from the quintessential British exteriors, all of interior is royal, extravagant and truly state-of-art. Built by the British in 1884 for Lord Dufferin, this is where Simla Conference was held in 1945. The decision to carve out Pakistan and East Pakistan from India was also taken here in 1947.
