English: Nicola Spedalieri self portrait
Portrait preserved among Spedalieri’s relics in the Real Capizzi College. The painting was made in 1777 when Spedalieri was 33 years old. It was donated to the college in 1886 by his heirs. The inscription on the frame reads, The inscription below says: "Nicolaus Spitaleri aetat suae XXXIII-Hanc on the suàmet manu pinxit effigiem." Spedalieri’s original name was Spitaleri, which he changed during his stay in Rome.
