SVG implemenation of decree of 12 November 1836:

Piratini 12 de Novembro de 1836, 1º da Independencia e da Republica.

Occupando já na grande familia das nações o lugar que lhe compete o estado riograndense e convindo que elle tenha um escudo de armas o presidente da Republica decreta:

O escudo d'armas (sic) do Estado Riograndense será de ora em diante de forma de um quadrado dividido pelas tres cores assim dispostas.

A parte superior junto a haste verde e formada por um triangulo izoceles cuja hypotenuza será paralella à diagonal do quadrado.

O centro escarlate formado por um exagono determinado pela hypotenuza do primeiro triangulo e a de outro igual e symetricamente disposto côr de ouro que formará a parte superior.

Domingos José de Almeida ministro e secretario de estado dos negocios do interior assim o tenha entendido e faça executar com os despachos necessarios.
