A very well done fox trot. S.J. Stocco was active as a songwriter and composer of jazz pieces primarily in the 1920s, several of which were recorded on records. This fox trot was published by Jerome H. Remick in New York and Detroit in 1919. Musescore researcher Erlingl found some info on S.J. Stocco: Salvatore Stocco was born on Sicily/Italy in 1896. His father, Charles, came with his family to USA in 1907. He was also musician, bandleader, at least for some time around 1910s. Salvatore married and had several children. He died in Los Angeles 1974. Original score source was from the Charles Templeton Sheet Music Collection at Mississippi State University at this link: https://scholarsjunction.msstate.edu/cht-sheet-music/4062/ This is a reproduction of the original score. I've reformatted and eliminated the D.S. jump for easier reading. Thank you to Musescore's JohnJ1995 for the great suggestion. |
