Not sure the stars are all the same color... AnonMoos (talk) 19:22, 14 March 2010 (UTC)

Well spotted, the star in the upper right had an alpha value of f0 instead of ff. They should all appear the same now, RGBA hex #c9c0bbff, aka pale silver. Thanks for pointing it out. Wine Guy (talk) 21:50, 14 March 2010 (UTC)

There is no flag for the Governor. There never has been. Signed, a born and raised Nevadan who also just searched through the entire Nevada Revised Statutes and its predecessor, the Statutes of the State of Nevada. https://www.leg.state.nv.us/Division/Legal/LawLibrary/NRS/NRS-235.html —TheYearbookTeacher (talk) 13:04, 4 September 2025 (UTC)

There is some documentation on them at https://www.crwflags.com/fotw/flags/us-nv.html . That page does mention that as of 2009, the flag was not in use. Stuff like that is not always defined in statutes. A google book search appears to have a hit in this book, but it's snippet view and I can't really read it, but it would be good to see what sources that cites if anyone can find a copy. It would be better to have more sources certainly, but the lack of mention in the statutes does not necessarily mean the statement "there is no flag for the governor" is accurate (or that such a flag was never used). The description should mention though if this flag is mostly historical. Carl Lindberg (talk) 13:44, 4 September 2025 (UTC)
With further looking, the Google Books link was from Volume 1 of Raven, a journal of the North American Vexillogical Association. They have made their issues available online; Volume 1 is here. That has a detailed history of the Nevada flag here. That barely mentions a governor's flag except for one sentence: Further, Nevada is the only state with two governor's flags, one civil and one military. The citation on that statement is: Las Vegas Age, 7 Dec. 1934; Frederic C. Gale, State of Nevada, Flag of the Governor (Carson City: Governor’s Office, 22 May 1968). The Las Vegas Age is online as well; the Dec 7 1934 issue is at the Library of Congress, and the article is on page 14 of that issue. That does indeed describe a governor's flag. Even if there is no governor's flag in use currently, sure seems there was. Perhaps this should be marked as a historical flag and not something current (and perhaps not documented as such on Wikipedia articles). Carl Lindberg (talk) 21:01, 14 October 2025 (UTC)
