more Lua errors

@Reinhard Müller: , pages using {{Category description|Precipitation by administrative division}} like Category:Snow in Eure and many other "Snow in ..." categories errors and end up in Category:Pages with script errors. Looking at HTML of the page I see "show "Too many Wikidata entities accessed" error and "Expensive parser function count: 399/500". Can you look into it? --Jarekt (talk) 00:44, 29 January 2024 (UTC)

Reinhard Müller, I do not know about automatic notifications. I just check it from time to time. Since I try to maintain some of the most often used templates, many of the errors are due to issues I caused one way or the other. For example, last half a year I am fixing issues caused by a change to {{Self}} to throw an error instead of quietly quitting if an input is not a recognized license. --Jarekt (talk) 19:46, 2 August 2024 (UTC)

@JAn Dudík: Your bot's bad edit created the issue. As an occasional bot operator, I know that sometimes undoing a bot edit is short lived, as it is likely to do the same edit again. Lua errors

Lua errors

@Reinhard Müller: more errors in Category:April 2022 in Gyeonggi-do. I wonder if it would be possible to rewrite this module to fail more gracefully. Maybe place page in some category instead of throwing an lua error. Jarekt (talk) 02:19, 5 September 2024 (UTC)

I fixed this error, and I will look into changing the error handling as you proposed. Do you happen to know whether there already is a function which does something like "write an error message to output and add the page to a maintenance category"? --Reinhard Müller (talk) 06:55, 5 September 2024 (UTC)
I do not think there is such a function. For error message I used in Module:Coordinates something like Error: Invalid parameters \n followed by a error/maintenance category. --Jarekt (talk) 12:18, 5 September 2024 (UTC)
Just to keep you updated, I did not yet change the module error handling, but I added the error category to the list of pages I look at (more or less) daily.
