Cy Seymour (spelled Cy Seymore on the cover) was a pseudonym for prolific composer and ragtime writer W.C. Polla, who wrote most of his scores using the name W.C. Powell. The cover calls this piece "The Great Rube Dance", rube being a term referring to a rural person. A rube dance would describe a country dance or barn dance. Published in 1904 by his own W.C. Polla Company in Chicago. Original score source was from Baylor University Frances G. Spencer Collection of American Sheet Music at this link: https://digitalcollections-baylor.quartexcollections.com/Documents/Detail/the-old-tobacco-box-the-great-rube-dance/2250894 This is a reproduction of the original score. Thank you to Mitchy for suggesting this fine score. W.C. Polla set of scores including all rags: https://musescore.com/user/36482158/sets/5108599
