File:(C) Sexual offense against children, rates per 100000 population 2010-2012, world.jpg

Summary

Description
English: Reported sexual crimes against children.

Sexual abuse rate of children per 100,000 people, per year, select countries of the world, 2010-2012

Gray color: data not provided by the country

Definition: "Sexual Offences against Children" means crimes of a sexual nature committed against children (of age below the age of consent in that nation). Includes child pornography offences, procuring a child for prostitution, statutory rape with a person below the age of consent and other offences related to the sexual exploitation of children. Note that not all sexual crimes against children are reported, and that not all legal systems count sexual crimes against children the same way, and the actual rates may differ starkly from the reported rates. This may give incorrect impressions about the real number of sexual crimes against children in countries like Sweden.

Note: Any cross-national comparisons should be conducted with caution because of the differences that exist between the legal definitions of age of consent. For example, the age of consent in the Middle East, North Africa, Central Asia and Islamic nations elsewhere is lower than in Europe, US, Japan, South Korea, India and New Zealand.

This map of the world image could be re-created using vector graphics as an SVG file. This has several advantages; see Commons:Media for cleanup for more information. If an SVG form of this image is available, please upload it and afterwards replace this template with {{vector version available|new image name}}.
It is recommended to name the SVG file “(C) Sexual offense against children, rates per 100000 population 2010-2012, world.svg”—then the template Vector version available (or Vva) does not need the new image name parameter.
