- According to Commons:Country_specific_consent_requirements#France photos of public figures performing their public functions or activities do not require consent. - @Ikan Kekek I am not entirely sure I can do what you say. But AFA I know reproduction under Section 52 of the Indian Copyright Act, 1957 is allowed which states that
(t) the making or publishing of a painting, drawing, engraving or photograph of a sculpture, or other artistic work failing under sub-clause (iii) of clause (c) of section 2 ["any other work of artistic craftsmanship"], if such work is permanently situate in a public place or any premises to which the public has access;
. While I am not an expert in this but here it states that any premises to which public has access. There is no explicit mention of indoor/outdoor. Also this was released by the Prime Minister's Office (i.e.) Govt of India itself. Not any random photographer. Also to add this was gifted to Modi by Chief Justice of India, not in his personal but official capacity. Which means that this was created by public fund which makes Govt the owner of the statue. I would repeat that I am not the best with these terms and maybe wrong. Please correct me if so. I am all for getting better with these things. Thank you. This file was initially tagged by ArtSmir as Copyvio and the most recent rationale was: the image in the first version of the upload is the has same size as the photo from the source from which it was borrowed here under a free license. However, that site does not provide for the distribution of files under a free license. The second added source allows this, but the first version of the file, as and as enlarged file of the second version of the download have fundamental visual and structural differences compared to the image in the second source. As a government stock, I believe the photo should have been taken by a government photographer. The uploader chooses not to provide the information of the creator does not necessarily mean that the creator of the photo is "Unknown". Besides, since the photo was taken by someone on Her Majesty's service (as HK was a British colony back then), this photo could possibly be protected by Crown copyright? These are logos for a Bangladesh based magazine., Commons:Copyright rules by territory/Bangladesh does not address the threshold of originality, but given the British influence, it is possible that these simple logos may be copyrighted as the threshold for copyright is much lower.
