About Google Zeitgeist (as of April 2006)
The Google Zeitgeist Archive is accessible via http://www.google.com/intl/en/press/zeitgeist/archive.html. The Zeitgeist has been published since January 2001, the first five editions (January to May) available in PDF format, the remainder available as web pages. A Zeitgeist report has been published every month except for a combined October/November 2003 edition and no editions for December 2003, December 2004, November and December 2005. The Zeitgeist reporting model changed in 2006 with the advent of separate United States and World editions; only a February edition has been published so far for 2006.
About the OS statistics
The data for all operating systems was collated in Microsoft Excel 2000, then filtered for Windows 98 and a graphical view saved as the presented gif image. Information was published irregularly in the Google Zeitgeist about the operating system that computers used to conduct queries against Google were using. These statistics were first reported in January 2001 and ended in June 2004. In the data set, rows are available for every month from January 2001 to June 2004, except a combined month for October/November 2003. Empty cells indicate either that no data was available for a given report for any operating system or the particular OS was not mentioned in a specific report.
